Ifeanyi Onyeonoru was a man whose quiet strength and compassion left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Born in 1961, Ifeanyi grew up with a deep love for God and a strong commitment to academia.

After completing his Sociology degree at Imo State University, he went on to the University of Ibadan, where he earned both his Master’s and Ph.D. in Sociology. He was promoted to Professor in 2007 and delivered his inaugural lecture in 2015.

Over the course of more than 30 years in academia, he supervised over 20 Ph.D. theses, took on more than 25 administrative responsibilities both within and outside the university, and authored numerous publications.

Ifeanyi was not just known for his professional work but also for his heart for God, which shone through in his daily life, especially in his music ministry and his role as a Pastor within the Ever Increasing Word Ministry (Rhema). He served in the church since 1998 and was eventually ordained as a Minister in November, 2009.

He was a loving husband, a beloved father of three daughters, and a cherished friend and brother to many. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the countless acts of kindness he performed.

Though his physical presence is missed, Ifeanyi’s memory is cherished in the hearts of his loved ones who remember him as a beacon of compassion, love, hard work, and dedication.
